Cryoprecipitate: Everything You Always Wanted to Know But Were Afraid to Ask Program Overview

Program Description

Beyond a detailed description of the manufacture of Cryoprecipitated AHF and its contents, this program will review guideline-based indications for use of the product. We will focus primarily on evidence for its use as a fibrinogen supplement and alternative sources of fibrinogen, touching briefly on the variety of conditions for which cryoprecipitate is considered second-line therapy. We will also discuss dosing recommendations so learners can assist clinicians in ordering the appropriate amount in the right clinical circumstances.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the workshop, the participant will be able to:

  • Recognize indicated uses of Cryoprecipitated AHF
  • Accurately describe contents of Cryoprecipitate for clinicians
  • Discuss dosing recommendations when practitioners require assistance
  • Conduct internal utilization audits to enhance local practice
