A Field Guide to Statistics for Blood Bankers Program Overview

Program Description

Blood banks and laboratories rely on data to make decisions. Statistics is the science of collecting, analyzing, explaining and presenting data. How much do you know or understand about some of the basics of statistics? This program will review basic statistical terms and look at graphical presentations of data. You will learn how statistics are used in the laboratory and blood bank, and how graphs help us see patterns in complex data. You will consider some examples of data from blood banking, both good and bad. This program will help you ask better questions about data. It will discuss the elements of good graphs and show how the same data can be displayed in several ways.
